Every so often, I receive requests from parents asking me if I would provide extended childcare services. These requests come when a family needs the support, reliability, and nurturing care of a professional nanny to assist them in addressing particularly stressful, anxious or worrisome situations – requests have been made when a parent or sibling is facing a battle with a life-threatening disease, a child is in need of positive behavioral guidance or in need of overcoming a physical limitation, a child requires assistance with addressing academics, social and cultural issues or a life-altering occurrence. It is a comfort during these times for parents to have a patient, understanding, and loving caregiver available to help their child navigate the emotional challenges ahead.

Senior Companion
On occasion, my services are requested to offer assistance to a senior member of the family.
“For a number of years, Martha has assisted me in traveling to and from my summer home on an island off the coast of Maine. I am an artist in my 90’s and Martha packs up my luggage and paintings and off we go traveling for a day by car and ferry. Once we have arrived on the island, Martha stays with me for a few days to help me settle in and prepares my studio for the summer season – cleaning, organizing, and hanging artwork. Martha understands my physical limitations, is attentive to my needs, and works alongside me at my pace. She is wonderful company and I am so appreciative of her assistance. I can’t imagine traveling without her!”
